About PortFit

Mission Statement

PortFit helps contractors, DIYers, and detailers build shop-vac setups that actually fit and perform for real messes. We combine standardized, job‑based testing with verified compatibility mappings—so every vacuum, filter, hose, and adapter locks together, meets the demands of your work, and removes guesswork.

Our Brand Story

If you’ve ever fought a slipping hose, juggled adapters, or clogged a filter five minutes into drywall cleanup, you know the pain we set out to solve. PortFit began on job sites and in garages where “good enough” wasn’t cutting it—fine dust still escaped, suction tanked mid‑task, and parts from different brands refused to play nice. We started documenting real‑world failures, measuring every port and hose we could find, and running repeatable “real mess” tests with sawdust, drywall dust, and water. The result is a compatibility‑obsessed, job‑first approach: match the mess and your tools to the right vac, filter, bag, hose, and adapters—then prove it under load.

Our Fit Finder maps diameters, locking mechanisms, and accessory families across ecosystems like RIDGID, Shop‑Vac, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Bosch, Festool, Fein, Karcher, and Craftsman. Our guides translate airflow math, filtration standards, and OSHA requirements into clear, defensible choices you can explain to a client or supervisor. We believe a clean, efficient, and expandable setup should grow with your projects—not hold you back.

Our Team (Author Personas)

  • The Builder: A licensed GC who prioritizes durable setups, dust control, and compliance on active sites.
  • The Detailer: An automotive pro focused on fine‑dust filtration, anti‑static hoses, and quiet performance for occupied spaces.
  • The Hygienist: An industrial hygiene consultant ensuring our guidance aligns with OSHA silica controls and best practices for HEPA and decon workflows.
  • The Engineer: A test‑lead who instruments every review (CFM, static pressure, particle counts, noise) and publishes methods so results are repeatable.

This cross‑disciplinary crew keeps our guides practical, our data transparent, and our recommendations focused on outcomes: stronger suction, cleaner air, fewer clogs, quieter jobs, and guaranteed fit.
